Ghana’s Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, will lead a two-day Cabinet retreat in July to explore how artificial intelligence can enhance governance and public service delivery.

The announcement was made during a presentation by Prof. Jerry John Kponyo of the KNUST Engineering Education Project (KEEP) in Accra.

George said the retreat will focus on AI applications across ministries, aiming to develop strategic plans and foster inter-ministerial collaboration.

“By embracing AI, Ghana’s governance can enhance public services, drive economic growth, and improve citizens’ lives,” he said.

The retreat will also allow ministers to engage with AI experts and explore the creation of an AI Commission to oversee national strategies and ensure responsible adoption.
