Biography:
Blessing is a Data Protection Consultant at Castlebridge currently completing a PhD in Data Protection Law at Trinity College Dublin. He has experience working with various clients on data protection and AI risk analysis, development of data protection policies, remediation of compliance gaps and he is currently the DPO of a number of organisations Blessing is a registered solicitor in Zimbabwe with over 4 years’ experience in the private sector where he worked with start-ups and small companies advising on compliance with consumer privacy law and data protection. He has written and lectured on privacy law with a particular interest in policy development specific to cultural context. He is a contributor to Castlebridge research activities in data policy, data ethics, and global standards for data protection, including emerging legislation in Africa and other jurisdictions. His PhD thesis is exploring group rights in relation to data protection arising from profiling and use of artificial intelligence. His work explores the effect of current regulatory developments in the European Union on group rights, how such rights must develop and the lessons the European Union can gain from other cultures, particularly Africa.
